Our daughter is now approaching the age of 10 and is in Year 5 at school, she was first identified with learning difficulties in Pre-Primary. After moving to the area it was not until last year with the recommendation from the local school to have her assessed by Rebecca Waters of Function First that we hit the jackpot with both Rebecca's individual programs and the use of The Listening Program.
Now in the past in association with School Psychologists and assessments our daughter has been to Optometrists for visual assessment and completed a Visual Therapy program involving $,weekly visits and daily at home activities this along with extra school activities within school and at home.
Along with the emotional side of it all the past years have been hard and frustrating for my daughter as with all the effort there was little or no improvement, reading, writing, math's all of the basic necessities. It seemed the last resort for some was to assume she was A.D.D, all this naturally also took a toll on us, the parents looking for assistance and seeing our daughter with high social skills, common sense and in all a normal little girl but "When would the penny drop,
what will make the penny drop, what is the missing link,?." We new her
concentration was not the best and there was a problem also with simple instruction, "pack your lunch box into your bag, grab your jumper and hop in the car", without fail every day the jumper or the lunch box would be forgotten.
Our daughter has now completed a simple assessment with Rebecca and we have also invested in purchasing The Listening Program of course at an expense but this is easily one of the best investments we have ever made. The combination of these programs has changed our lives. 20 weeks, little effort, Great Success.
Rebecca's Occupational Therapy program was brilliant and an eye opener I left in tears after our first session knowing that at last this was it we have found the problem and the person to fix it.
We attended Rebecca's office fortnightly however our daughter's desire was to go everyday that in its self giving praise to a wonderful Therapist and program, we had some home activities mainly games stimulating thinking, memory, visual skills. We all enjoyed family time after dinner playing the games.
The Listening Program, this is a daily 30 minute program, broken up into two
15 minute time slots involving sitting with headphones on listening to music, that's it. Not so hard, I found it easy for our lifestyle to do it first thing in the morning as she was waking but still in bed and then last thing at night when in bed, Monday to Friday with weekends off.
We opted for the Bone Conduction Unit to hasten the process.
Improvement was not immediate but not without delay and I cannot believe the truly amazing difference in writing, general understanding of concepts which has greatly improved Math's, reading and the following of
day to day general instruction. Our daughter is more confident than
ever and is now rapidly closing the gap on years of past education. The penny has dropped, Thank You Rebecca
Now we have begun our second 20 week session after a break of 2 months and we are keen and ready to go with it.
I truly cannot recommend enough both Rebecca's professional services and The Listening Program, the cost of the programs does not measure up to the cost of your sanity and your child's well being and development.
Don't hesitate just do it!

Client Testimonial
A. was 3 and a half years old when we started the program. For 18 months prior, his aggressive behaviour had been progressively worsening. He has a caring and sensitive nature with an outgoing personality, but I was seeing more and more aggression, intolerance and frustration. He was particularly sensitive to sounds and had a very short fuse. There was also a lot conflict with sibling interaction.
After two weeks on TLP, I saw immediate changes. (At this time I was also implementing dietary changes.) He was more gentle with people and animals, more affectionate and thoughtful, more interest in' music and more adventurous. At the same time he had some headaches and was angry.
After completing TLP, the following changes have also made a positive impact on his life and family life.
Now, A. interacts extremely well with adults, peers and especially his two sisters (which is so beautiful to see). He could always converse very well, but I would have to say his language skills have improved and he is extremely competent at expressing himself
Another exciting change has been that A. now has the ability to play independently. He will complete puzzles, look at books (things he was too restless to do before). I see him using his imagination and being very comfortable with himself. He is also much more in control of his body.
Initially, it was difficult at times to get A. to comply with his daily listening sessions. Although, he would enjoy listening to the music, he did protest. We have now almost completed our second time through the program and A. will happily listen and play.
The stress in our lives has decreased significantly. We have so much more time available for having fun and enjoying each other's company.
Kind regards (from an ecstatic and completely satisfied mother)

E. is 10 years old. She is a very bright girl, who is highly sensitive and emotional. Although E. had been working ahead of her year level with above-average results, I felt there was a barrier with her learning that I could not identify. With her school work and learning a lot of the time she would know all the answers without knowing how she arrived there and sometimes she would struggle. This would result in anger and frustration.
E. has a brother and a sister and quite often there would be conflict between the siblings.
During the program there were many changes. We went through protesting and resentment. E. could feel her ability to read slow down in order for her to better comprehend the information. Changes which have had a positive effect include: new friends, more eye contact, new interests, more affectionate, increase in vocabulary, more thoughtful, more gentle, better at beginning and completing tasks, and staying focused.
The changes with the most impact have been improvement in sibling interaction, and more talking and communication. These two points especially have added to an improvement in the quality of family life (fantastic!! I).
Academically, E. has been getting excellent results at school. Physically, she has increased confidence in her sporting ability. She also has more control over her emotions. Overall, I would have to say she is more comfortable with herself.
Kind regards (from a mother who adores her children and has a much calmer lifestyle to enjoy them.)
Dear Tracey
I can’t believe that 12 months has passed since Sophie commenced her bone conduction with you. After seeing you mid April at the end of the 20 week listening program Sophie has continued to perform well in all areas of her life. She has had a fantastic year 5 in all areas of learning including sport, cello, flute, socially and in all subjects.
She achieved almost perfect scores in the national basic skills test and for that matter has achieved similar results in all tests undertaken this year.
2 weeks ago in front of 300 people including teachers, year 5 students and their parents Sophie was presented by the principal with a “Graduation Award” for the student from her class who achieved the highest in all the learning profiles including “a thinker”, a risk-taker, a carer, an inquirer ,knowledgable and well balanced.
I was a weepy mess as we had no idea, nor did she,she went up on stage and made a fitting acceptance speech.
I cant tell you how proud and happy we felt for her – she has been a shining star since her listening experiences.
In October we talked about starting the program again with the view to be finished early term 1 and to her credit she wanted to commence as she felt from time to time that she was slightly hesitant with some language, and is now in week 7 and is managing it all on her own.
Tracey I wanted to share this with you as we feel very fortunate to have had the perfect outcome for Sophie and we know this is attributed to meeting you and the listening program. It has truly been a life changing experience for all of us, it still makes me feel teary just typing it . In my world coming to see you has been one of the best life decisions I have ever made and I am ever grateful to you and your endeavor – your business is priceless!
SOPHIE’S ACHIEVEMENTS USING TLP (NO BONE CONDUCTION)
Sophie has a diagnosis of Autism. She was diagnosed at the age of three and has been attending Occupational Therapy with Adele Suda since she was 4. She is now 5 and attends Prep school with some support. She initially had limited language skills, poor eye contact and did not engage with others.
Sophie started on The Listening Program at the beginning of the year. This is her mother’s account of her progress.
‘Just after a few weeks of listening to the music, Sophie became more aware of her environment: it was easier to get her reaction, she started to notice much more watching out of the car window and so on.
Sophie was under responsive to smell. Even strong smell or bad smell did not bother her. After about 11 weeks on the program I noticed that Sophie could sense different smells. I found it out when I was giving her valerian to calm her down, she rejected to take it and before this was not a problem.
During listening to disc 5 and 6, Sophie started to talk much more and was using sentences and phrases, not just single words as usual. A little bit later Sophie started calling me ‘mum’, every time she talked to me. Now it is normal for her to address people by their name (Mum, Dad etc). For 4 ½ years I was waiting for my girl to call me mum, but now I can hear this all day!
Sophie’s speech is still improving. She is picking up more and more and it seems she does it easier. She repeats less. Now she is trying to find the answers herself. Now she can answer questions about her school day and she told me what she was doing that day. Before she only used single words or just silence.
Sophie was a terrible sleeper. If she woke up at night she would not get back to bed. Now when she wakes, she comes to my bed, asks me something and then just falls asleep again. It makes our life much happier. Now we can sleep at night!!
Sophie could not draw very well. Now she has big improvement. She is now drawing pictures with quite small details. She is trying to write letters and sometimes with reasonable success. Firstly she started to draw a man, now she is drawing pictures such as food, garden, beach etc.
We are very pleased with Sophie’s progress and look forward to more achievements as she continues on the Listening Program.’

“My son Jarrad (13 years) has always struggled with his learning. When he commenced prep his teacher noticed how he would struggle with class tasks but when a teacher aid sat beside him and he was helped one on one he did far better. Tests conducted on Jarrad revealed that his hearing was down and grommets were inserted. Three sets were needed over the next couple of years. Jarrad has had help in the way of Speech Pathologist, Learning support, Tutors and numerous learning programs. In year 3 he was diagnosed with Auditiory Processing. Over the years we continued with tutors and lots of extra work but Jarrad continued to struggle and fall further and further behind.
It was heart breaking to see his twin sister breeze through her work and Jarrad trying so hard but getting nowhere. Jarrad is such a lovely caring sensitive boy and has a excellent attitude. He has put up with me taking him to all sorts of specialists and doing extra work and programs over the years.
When I first went to Adele Jarrad was really over it all. Adele was great and the exercises and games were made fun and Jarrad didn't mind doing them. I had heard of the listening program a couple of years ago and thought how good it sounded but because it was in South Australia I worried about having support with it so I discarded the idea. When Adele mentioned she was taking it on I jumped at the chance. Jarrad was keen because he didn't see it as work. Jarrad started listening to the music at the end of last year.
When he started year 8 this year he came home all excited saying that he could concentrate more and things were starting to make sense. He recently had a maths test at school and did
\
really well. He came home the other day with a huge beaming smile telling me that all the kids in his maths class say he is smart. His report card came home with B+ his highest mark and C his lowest. I couldn't believe it. I use to think of Jarrads brain as a treasure chest and I needed to find the key to unlock it. I believe the listening program was the key.
